services & impact manager

We're looking for an experienced and motivated self-starter to lead our Services team, grow our workstreams and monitor our impact for the benefit of young people who face mental health and wellbeing challenges in Dundee. In this role you will act as a member of our leadership team, working closely with (and deputising for) the Chief Executive to ensure that our service delivery is working towards our strategic goals. This is a part-time role (0.6 FTE) and fixed term for 18 months.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who are young people with lived experience of mental health and wellbeing challenges.

who are feeling strong?

Feeling Strong is Dundee's youth mental health charity and we exist to make sure that every young person in Dundee who has experienced a mental health or wellbeing challenge is supported to reach their full potential. We deliver projects, services and campaigns in the community to tackle stigma, build confidence, develop resources, create networks and most importantly support the positive recovery journey of our young people. Our services are designed by young people, delivered by young people, and for young people - we believe that this youth-led/peer-led approach is our biggest asset in tackling issues around mental health and wellbeing.

what would my role be?

We're looking for a member of staff to manage and deliver our five workstreams, coach and develop the Services team and ensure the continuous improvement of our impact for the benefit of Dundee's young people. Also, as a member of the Operations Team, you may be asked to help with the organisation or delivery of the charities' other activities. The Operations Team meet 12 times a year, for hour long meetings, rotating between the days of the week. Work-related travel costs will be reimbursed.

Some training and induction will be provided, and we expect the candidate to develop skills once in post, but as this is a senior position within the team we would expect candidates to demonstrate developed skills or experience of:

  • Line management

  • Project management

  • Working at a strategic level

And whilst not essential, we would also particularly welcome candidates with the following experience:

  • Working in a mental health or youth work environment

  • Working in the third sector

  • Writing funding applications

  • Measuring and evaluating impact

  • Managing small or medium sized budgets

  • Service design

  • Safeguarding
