Join our fresh and talented board at an exciting phase of our organisations’ growth - you can help lead the strategic development of one of Dundee’s most promising new charities!
Feeling Strong is a service delivery and campaigning organisation with the mission to improve the lives of young people living with mental health issues in Dundee by fostering the skills, confidence and aspirations they need to flourish. We work closely with the community to provide opportunities for our service users in the following areas; lobbying, skills development and awareness.
We are at an early stage of development, but have received start-up funding and are delivering one project on behalf of young people with mental health issues in Dundee. We have two more projects ready to start pending funding.
We meet 6 times a year, for hour-and-a-half meetings, rotating between the days of the week. This is a minimum of 9 hours a year, but other opportunities to get involved will arise and Trustees are free to take them up if they wish.
Any travels costs will be reimbursed however this will be rare as meetings are held online.
Training will be provided, but we would particularly welcome candidates with skills in Accounting, Strategic Planning, Governance, Policy, Human Resources, Marketing or a professional working in a Mental Health or Youth Work environment. We would also encourage candidates who have either lived experience of mental health issues, are the parent of a young person with mental health issues or are a young person who have lived experience of mental health issues to apply. We are keen to have young people on our board - we will consider applicants from 16 and up.
To apply for this opportunity please send a copy of your C.V. with a short supporting statement to email@example.com making clear which role you are applying for and we'll get back to you within a week for an informal chat - we’ll treat you to a coffee! If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
The closing date for applications is 10/04/2019.
