Hub Development & admin Assistant

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and willing-to-learn self-starter to develop of our Community Hub in Stobswell, including administration and supporting the volunteers who deliver the service. This is a living wage, part-time role (12 hours per week over three days) and fixed term for 52 weeks.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who are young people with lived experience of mental health and wellbeing challenges.

Feeling Strong is an exciting new Dundee-based charity with the ambition to improve the lives of young people living with mental health and wellbeing challenges by fostering the skills, confidence and aspirations they need to flourish. Our services are designed by young people, delivered by young people for the benefit of young people, and we believe that this youth-led/peer-led approach is our biggest asset in tackling issues around mental health and wellbeing. We promote stable recovery journeys for young people, and tackle the disparity they face in unemployment, underemployment and accessing opportunities like further and higher education.

We are a promising, high-momentum start-up, having secured further project funding to deliver nine projects on behalf of young people with mental health challenges in Dundee.

The 'Community Hub' project is designed to provide a 'one stop shop' for young people who are struggling with mental health and wellbeing challenges, delivering services, resources and support from a suite of purpose-built rooms: our design workshop, service delivery space and youth drop-in space. We're also hoping to use the space to allow community groups and partner organisations deliver their own services to support the community.


We're looking for the successful applicant to develop these services, support and recruit volunteers, promote the use of the hub to the community, find partners to increase the range of services we offer and ensure the smooth running of the Community Hub by administrating back office processes. Also, as a member of the Operations Team, you may be asked to help with the organisation of the charities' other activities on occasion. The Operations Team meet 12 times a year, for hour long meetings, rotating between the days of the week.

Any travel costs will be reimbursed.


Basic training and induction will be provided, and we expect the candidate to develop skills once in post, but we would particularly welcome candidates with basic skills in General IT, Bookkeeping, Volunteer Support, Social Media Marketing or Administration.
