The aim of Recovery & Support is to provide a range of one-to-one and group therapeutic activities for our young people to support their positive recovery journeys.
We are currently running weekly Art Nights on Thursdays and Stitch 'n' B*tch runs on Wednesday nights, which includes sewing, knitting, crochet and other craft activities. We also have our Mountain Biking Project Trail Therapy which is will re launch at a later date. You can find out more about them below.
Feeling Strong partnered up with “Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland” to bring you: Trail Therapy! This included six weeks of cycling through trails in Dundee led by a mountain biking expert with support from Feeling Strong volunteers.
To celebrate the Year of Stories 2022 and funded by the William Syson Foundation, New Fables was a ten-week art project that aimed to reconnect our young people with the strange and unusual tales of Dundee's social history.
During the project, our young people visited a range of historic landmarks in Dundee alongside creative sessions exploring why we use fables and art to understand the world around us. These sessions culminated in 4 printmaking workshops at the DCA where our young people created their own print inspired by the stories told during New Fables combined with their experiences.
Making Waves was our 2020 art based recovery project. It involved taking 15 young people around the coasts and waters of Scotland and creating mixed-media artworks in response.
The purpose of this project was to highlight the positive impacts both water landscapes and art can have on our mental health and wellbeing.
This project was supported by NatureScot, through the Plunge In! The Coasts and Waters Community Fund.
