Synthesis

Writer Commission for Eco Anxiety Workshop Needed!

Feeling Strong, Dundee’s Youth Mental Health Charity would like to invite a Scottish-based young writer to host a workshop with our young people in response to growing concerns about Eco Anxiety.

Eco Anxiety is defined as "distress about climate change and its impacts on the landscape and human existence. That can manifest as intrusive thoughts or feelings of distress about future disasters or the long-term future of human existence and the world, including one's descendants."

You’ll be tasked with creating a poem, short story or experimental writing piece with our young people that will be shared throughout book week and featured in our Eco Anxiety project called Synthesis.

The workshop will take place during book week, on Thursday 16th November, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Please email your CV and a brief description (max 250 words) of what youth eco-anxiety means to you and why you would like to host the workshop to conor.mcconville@feelingstrong.co.uk

Deadline: 6th November, with the workshop taking place in person at our Feeling Strong on Thursday 16th November.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email Conor, our Recovery & Support Coordinator at: conor.mcconville@feelingstrong.co.uk
